Moon Version, Part 10: Trading, Ultra Beasts, and Books

Before I start the story, a special shout out to /u/yomanbrodude (Bruce) for the trade! That's one more for the living 'dex!
Also, feedback is much appreciated. I'd really like any feedback I can get to make the story better.
Nuztai wanted to make this trip to the Pokémon Center quick, but it looked like the safari was in town, cause the Center was packed. As he finally made his way to the counter, Nuztai asked Nurse Joy what was going on.
“It’s a trade festival. All the trainers here are trading Pokémon to promote friendship!” She said her usual cheery way. At least, Nuztai assumed it was the usual way, as he knew it was a different Joy, but they all seemed so similar.
This was his chance. Nuztai took a deep breath and prepared to shout, “DOES ANYwha…” A young girl began tugging at his leg.
“Mister, do you have Zubat? I wanna trade for a Zubat!” She said.
“Little girl, there is almost no Pokémon I wouldn’t trade you my Zubat for.” He replied. “What’ve you got.” Right away, Nuztai traded Garth the Zubat for Whirly the Poliwhirl. Nuztai thanked her, and she ran off excited. He went right back to his original quest. “DOES ANY HAVE A PASSIMIAN?!” He shouted.
“I DO!” raised a hand in the back. The two edged their way through the crowd and met in the middle. “I was looking for Oranguru, but found Passimian instead. They’re both so rare, I figured I’d come to the festival and see if I could trade!”
Nuztai explained his similar story of catching Oranguru, and traded with Bruce. Thrilled with his new trades, Nuztai departed for the Hano Grand Resort, forgetting entirely to wait for Hau. He walked onto the lot and caught one look at the beach and had to check it for Pokémon. After some training and new Pokémon catching, he headed inside, where the green eyed man stood waiting.
He introduced himself as Faba, and said he’d bring him and Hau for a tour of Aether Paradise. As if on cue, Hau came charging in with Olivia. She’d insisted on escorting him, since the whole thing sounded like a kidnapping plot. She saw them off and informed them Professor Kukui was waiting for them on the next island when they were done.
Olivia watched as the ship set sail. Shortly after, Professor Burnet came rushing up.
“Olivia! Have you seen Nuztai? I still haven’t found him and it’s urgent!” She exclaimed.
“Oh? Yes, Nuztai and Hau were just here. You barely missed them. I believe they said something about visiting the Pokémon Nursery.”
“Here, we focus on Pokémon conservation. Downstairs, we work on new Pokéball technologies and more.” explained Faba as they walked off the ferry.
“But, that sounds counterproductive…” replied Nuztai.
“But we aware that your Pokéballs won’t work here. We emit a special jamming signal that stops them from functioning.” Faba went on.
“OH ARCEUS!” exclaimed Nuztai “Does that mean I can’t send them out either?! Is the life support system functioning? Do you have any idea how DANGEROUS…”
“It only jams the capture function.” Reassured Faba. “It’s top of the line. Oh, uh, YOU, woman over there!”
“Yes, Branch Manager Faba?” responded a purple haired young woman in a white pantsuit.
“Take these children on a tour upstairs and introduce them to the president.” instructed Faba. Nuztai’s eye began to twitch at being called a child. “I’ve important business to attend to.” And Faba walked off.
The woman introduced herself as Wicke, and began showing them around. She ended the tour on the top level, the conservation area. There they met president Lusamine, who introduced herself and declared that her love would be all the care Pokémon would ever need. But their conversation was quickly cut short by a loud boom and a quake, as a wormhole opened in the room, and a strange jellyfish creature came out. It attacked Nuztai, who defended with Zeus the Magneton. The battle was quick, and the creature faded away.
“That creature was undoubtedly an Ultra Beast. A creature from another world that came through an Ultra Wormhole. Pained by something, it clearly desired to come to our world. I must save it. I will love it.” explained Lusamine.
“Oooh kay…” said Nuztai “Hau, I think we should get going.”
“So be it. Miss Wicke, see them to the next Island of their challenge. I’ll ready things here for our greatest challenge yet. The protection of all Ultra Beasts.”
Hau and Nuztai arrive on Ula’ula island in Malie City. Hau is excited to try a new Malasada place, but Nuztai seeks more knowledge of the island’s traditions. They go their separate ways, agreeing they’ll see each other soon enough.
Nuztai finds the Malie City Library, a place chock full of books on the history of the region, it’s traditions, and even myths of ancient Pokémon. He grabs a couple books and begins reading, quickly getting drawn into a book that cryptically speaks of a Pokémon that came through a hole in the sky.
“According to that legend, the island guardians battled against the Legendary Pokémon said to be the moon incarnate, and were evenly matched.” Said a familiar voice from a man from behind Nuztai. He turned to see what he thought was mentor from Kanto.
“You must be Professor Samson Oak!” Nuztai said with a smile. Samson Oak smiled and nodded. Nuztai stood and happily greeted the Professor with a firm handshake and invited him to sit.
“It’s said that the Pokémon that came through the hole in the sky that day blessed the guardians with power to protect the islands.” explained Oak.
“Yeah, I follow all that. It’s weird though. It feels like there are holes in the story though. In fact, look at the binding here…” Nuztai said as he pointed to the seamline between some pages in the book. There, barely noticeable, is a small bit of paper torn between the pages. “It looks like an entire page may be missing.”
“Well, there’s another book that tells of what happened, but it’s significantly more cryptic.” Oak went and found another very old looking book. “Here. This is the story.”
“And the guardian’s power became one of nature revived by the moon as they protect their kin. Dormant they lie like simple creatures Until nuz locked a champion.”
“Wait, does that specifically refer to Nuzlocking?” inquired Nuztai.
“That’s not really certain. See how the words are separated? Some think it’s a mistranslation. That it’s supposed be ‘unlocked’.” elaborated Oak. “The guardians’ do pick their kahunas and reward loyal strong trainers with z-rings. Perhaps they seek a strong trainer for the day that Legendary Pokémon returns.”
“Now THAT makes some sense.” Nuztai said quietly. “They seek to WIN next time.”
