Special thanks to /u/littlefabi for the trades! The living ‘dex is that much closer to completion thanks to you!

Nuztai picked up the Quickball from the grass where it now lay and attached his Pokédex Digital ID, registering Tessa the Snowrunt as his new Pokémon. “I hope you never have to see battle, little one.” He told the Pokéball as it began to teleport away to storage, “But, I’m glad to have you.”

He journeyed into the mountain itself and was lucky enough to encounter Drampa… Thrice! He caught ‘em all in hopes of finding a trainer with a Pokémon to trade for his living ‘dex. Nuztai quickly found himself at a Pokémon Center just below the new Pokémon League. He felt mildly disappointed in the incredible ease of walking up the mountain. It was no Victory Road, that was for sure. But he decided to stay for a little bit and do some last minute training. He did, after all, have everything to lose.

His training was interrupted, however, by a surge of trainers going through the area. At first, Nuztai thought little of it, but as the trainers kept coming, his curiosity overwhelmed him and he had to check it out. The trainers seemed to be gathering at the Pokémon Center at the top of the mountain. That’s when he learned of a celebration going on. Trainers from all over Alola were gathering to celebrate the completion of the league and its first challenger by trading and battling their Pokémon. Once they learned he was the challenger, Nuztai was barraged with questions. But he learned that if he didn’t hurry, another challenger may beat him there.

Of course, Nuztai had to at least take some advantage of the situation, meeting a skilled Pokémon breeder by the name of Fabi. A friend of Professor Kukui as well, she had bred some of the Pokémon that Kukui would give to starting trainers. And, lucky for Nuztai, she was willing to trade some with him, as well. Thanks to her, he traded his spare Drampa and other extra Pokémon for a Rowlet, Poplio, Litten, and Turtonator for his living ‘dex.

As Nuztai waved goodbye to the crowd, they cheered and wished him luck, but no sooner had he turned his back did he hear a familiar voice call out to him.

“Hold up, Nuztai!” Shouted Hau as he raced over to him. Nuztai was thrilled to see him again and that he’d made it this far.

“So after we split up at Aether Paradise, I pushed myself to clear the rest of my trials.” Hau explained.

“Lillie would have wanted nothing less.” replied Nuztai. “How is she, by the way?”

“She awake and recovering well.” Hau said with a smile. “She’s expected to make a full recovering. Professor Burnett says she's quite lucky. Those machines weren’t made for humans, after all.”

“So, are you here to challenge the Pokémon League, too?”

“Yup!” Hau said with excitement. “Then, I heard from Gladion that you were already heading here, Nuztai! So I booked it here as fast as I could! You see, we’re gonna decide which one of us’ll be the first to the Pokémon League!”

Nuztai grinned widely, looked to the crowd and shouted, “You wanna give this crowd a show worthy of the Pokémon League, Hau!” The crowd roared and Hau began to jump with excitement. “Then let’s see who the first Alola Pokémon League challenger will be!”

Nuztai’s Bouncee and Hau’s Raichu appeared from their Pokéballs to a roar from the crowd. Raichu’s Psychic blast attacked Bouncee’s mind near immediately, but Bouncee pushed through, leaping into the air and slamming into Raichu with a Trop Kick. The attack was more than the poor mouse Pokémon could handle and it went down. Nuztai recalled Bouncee.

Next, Hau’s Incineroar faced off with Nuztai’s Mary. Mary led with a powerful Hydro Pump, but Incineroar bore through using it’s Darkest Lariat. Mary recoiled from the hit, but realized Incineroar was now vulnerable, and blasted another Hydro Pump. The pressure was so intense, Incineroar was pressed into the ground, unconscious. Nuztai recalled Mary and congratulated her earned victory.

Whirly was sent out to meet Hau’s Komala, but the battle ended quickly with a quick, powerful Wake-up Slap from Whirly that ironically knocked Komala out. Finally, Metatron met Leafeon on the battlefield. The crowd was going crazy from the intense battle. Hau was looking rightfully nervous. Metatron crashed into Leafeon with an Aerial Ace attack, and Leafeon fought back with an impressive Leaf Blade. The two were already weak from the single trade of attacks, but Metatron pulled through, hitting Leafeon first with another Aerial Ace. Hau had been defeated.

“That was an incredible, impressive battle, Nuztai.” Hau said cheerfully as they shook hands and the crowd cheered. “But you hear me. You’d better win. I better be able to say I lost to the first Alolan League Champion! And then our rematch will also be a title match! Good luck, cuz!” The two turned to the crowd and Hau raised Nuztai’s arm up in victory, the crowd beginning to chant Nuztai’s name.

Notice on Living 'Dex: I was recently informed that I was calculating my living 'dex wrong. I wasn't counting many version exclusive post game Pokémon, assuming them legendaries that I couldn't fairly trade for. I've since been informed they are Ultra Beasts that I CAN fairly trade for since they can be caught more than once. Still unsure if I can achieve Solgaleo and Cosmeon, but for now, they're labeled obtainable. I also had all the forms of Zygarde as obtainable, but I'm removing one form, since you can only get a max of two at a time (Complete form requires absorbing all cells). Looking for input on whether I should make an exception to my Restricted Trading Rule and allow GTS use for the purposes of trading for Cosmog (and possibly Zygarde) <--Was determined to be acceptable to use GTS for the purpose of aquiring Cosmog, Type:Null, and Zygarde (Though I was unsuccessful at acquiring Zygarde).
