Nuztai caught up to Acerola and they began walking back to the Aether House. As they rounded the bend entering Route 15, they saw several people in black outfits standing out front of the Aether House. They began to run closer, concerned for their friends inside. That’s when Nuztai was able to make out Plumeria looming over Hau, who lay on the ground struggling to find strength to pick himself up.
“Plumeria!” Yelled Nuztai, “Remember THIS!” Nuztai sent out Dean, who had evolved in their last encounter. Plumeria’s eyes grew wide as she saw Nuztai approach, and responded by sending her Golbat. Dean sweeped it quickly with his Sparkling Aria, leaving Plumeria no choice but to send out Salazzle. Dean was suddenly surrounding by a powerful energy, and blasted Salazzle with his Oceanic Operetta.
“Oh whatever.” scoffed Plumeria. “If you want the Pokémon back, you’ll come to our hideout in Po Town. Alone. Got that, Nuzlocker!?”
“Oh, I’ll be happy to wipe your lot out of your own hideout.” scoffed Nuztai as Plumeria and her grunts walked off. He turned to Hau and helped him up. Acerola ran inside. Once Hau was on his feet, Nuztai helped him walk inside.
“They stole Pokémon, Nuztai.” said a pained Hau. “You.. You need to go after them. Don’t worry about m
e.”
“Oh, I’ll get them.” laughed Nuztai. “But I’ll more focused about it if I know you and the other kids are ok.” Nuztai held the door for Hau as he limped inside. The kids were inside crying as Lillie sat holding them, trying her best to make them feel better. Acerola looked to Nuztai with a very stern look.
“They took the kids’ Pokémon” said a clearly angry Acerola. “Let’s go get them back!”
“You heard Plumeria, Acerola.” replied Nuztai. “They want me to go alone. It’s fine. I stormed Team Rocket’s headquarters last year with no backup either, and they had taken a whole town hostage.”
“About that…” Acerola’s expression became more worrying. “Po Town is barely a legitimate town anymore. The town itself is a fortress that Team Skull operates out of. It IS their hideout.”
Nuztai stood shocked for a moment just staring at Acerola. Then another concern crossed his mind, and he turned to Lillie. “Did they get Cosmog?”
“No.” replied Lillie. “For once he did as he was told and stayed in the bag.”
“I’m leaving.” said Nuztai. “I can’t stand to allow a group of idiots as bad as Team Skull be able to say they kept possession of a whole town as if they were as dangerous as the mafioso Team Rocket. I’m clearing them out.”
“Wait!” shouted Acerola as Nuztai began to walk out the door. “At least stop at the shoreline and look for a man in a kimono. He can help you get there at least.”
Nuztai left and did just that, meeting Grimsley, the man in the kimono, who registered Sharpedo to Nuztai’s ride pager. He gave Nuztai directions to Po Town and wished him luck.
Nuztai wasted little time getting to Po Town, stopping only to attempt to build his reserves. Arriving at Po Town, he released his team from their Pokéballs as he approached. The two skull grunts guarding the door released their Pokémon in a frail attempt to stop Nuztai’s wrath. Bobby and Rufus charged the door and swept right through the grunt’s Pokémon, blasting the door right off it’s hinges.
The pouring rain and flashes of thunder made the silhouettes of Nuztai’s team stepping through the smoke of blasting off the door a sight to behold. The skull grunts in town took defensive positions behind barriers and anything else they could find. But it made no difference. Nuztai slowly raised his arm directly out in front of him with his fist firmly clasped. Only the rain broke the silence as the skull grunts stared into the angry eyes of Nuztai and his Pokémon. Nuztai opened his outstretched fist and his Pokémon fanned out in an instant. Bobby’s Giga Impact blasted through the defences in the center of town and the others began to battle on their own against any Pokémon team skull attempted to use to defend their ‘town’. All the while, Nuztai slowly walked unflinchingly toward the Shady House at the end of town, recognizing it as the obvious hideout being protected.
As Nuztai made it to the door, his Pokémon each arrived at his sides, finished with their battles against the grunts. Bobby’s Brick Break shattered the door, and the team poured inside. Once again, Nuztai gradually walked up the stairs, as his Pokémon battled the grunts inside around him. He turned his gaze only as he passed doorways to check them for a leader in hiding as his Pokémon blasted through the doors moments before he’d pass.
Nuztai reached a room with a grunt standing guard in front of it. “What’s the first password? What Move does Master Guzma like best?” asked the grunt.
“Move.” replied Nuztai.
“Yeah. What move?” repeated the grunt.
“Move him.” said Nuztai with a stern anger. Raphael appeared from nowhere and blasted the grunt flying with an Iron Head attack. Nuztai continued forward, walking around the outside of the building toward the blocked off room, as his team continued dealing with endless grunts. Once again, as Nuztai arrived at the final door, his team arrived at his side, finished with their tasks. This time Nuztai reaches out and opens the door.
Guzma sits at a chair in the back of the room. “What took you so long?” asks Guzma, as he releases his Galisopod. “Ready for more bloodshed, Nuzlocker!”
As Galisopod moves forward to attack, Nuztai gives a single glance to Zeus, who uses his powerful Discharge to take it down in a single blow. Guzma angrily sends out Ariados in it’s place, and Nuztai glances to Raphael. Raphael’s trades a couple blows with Ariados before finishing it with his Icicle Spear.
“Where’s the kids’ Pokémon!” Demands Nuztai.
“Right there.” Says an oddly calm Guzma, pointing to a watching grunt. There, behind the grunt is Yungoos. “Give the man the Pokémon.” The grunt moved out of the way and the Yungoos ran to Nuztai, who allowed it to run up on his shoulder.
“Well, I guess you won the battle.” Says Guzma as he begins to walk out the door. As he passes Nuztai, he whispers one last message. “But we still got what we wanted.”
Nuztai stands puzzled by this message for a moment… and then it hits him. His eyes go wide and a cold sweat runs down his rain soaked face. Cosmog.
