A little training with Bouncee the Bounsweet was all it took for evolution to take place. Nuztai was thrilled with his sudden turn of luck. As a traded Pokémon, Bouncee the Steenee grew very quickly. It wasn’t long before Nuztai was ready to re-enter Brooklet Hill, pumped knowing he has two Pokémon with advantages over water types.

By now, evening had come, and Nuztai found himself in a lengthy battle with a wild Morelull that kept refreshing itself with Moonlight. Nuztai managed to add it to his living dex, but had to retreat to heal up before continuing. Eventually, he met up with Lana, the young blue haired girl from before. She instructed him to settle the cause of the splashing water in the nearby lake, adding a Lapras to his ride pager to do so. Nuztai was confused by the request, but went on with it.

The source, a tiny water Pokémon named Wishiwashi, proved to be an easy addition to the living dex. But something caught Nuztai’s eye about it’s addition in the Pokédex. “Solo form”. What could that mean? Is there another Wishiwashi form to be collected for the living dex? If so, surely he must continue this trial in hopes of discovering it.

Further on, another splash point was discovered. This time, Nuztai notices shadows swimming away from the point as he approaches. The source is once again a wishiwashi, but as far as Nuztai can tell, it’s also in solo form. Bouncee defeats it quickly, and then continue on.

Nuztai walks on with Lana, who tells Nuztai that Brooklet Hill is home to the mighty sea king himself, Kyogre. Nuztai laughs without restraint. Such a tiny place home to such a monster? Surely she jests.

As they cross the trial gate, Lana points to another rustling spot in the water.

“There,” She says, “you will likely find the totem Pokémon. Defeat it and claim victory of my trial. Should be easy, right? It’s not like you’ve angered any Pokémon that want revenge. Haha!”

Nuztai got a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach thinking about the guardian Pokémon. But now that they’re past the trial gate, he can’t catch whatever that Pokémon is. But he must press on.

As Nuztai approached, the splashing worsened, until a mighty beast of a Pokémon erupted. The Pokédex said Wishiwashi, but this was not the same beast. Bouncee began to battle with all her might, as the Totem continued summoning more aid. The battle dragged out, with Nuztai constantly having to take time to heal Bouncee and restore it’s weakened attack power from Wishiwashi’s growl… Then, something happened. Wishiwashi broke apart, becoming a single fish. Suddenly it all made sense. Nuztai seized the opportunity and had Bouncee finish it with a Razor Leaf attack. It worked! And Nuztai breathed a sigh of relief knowing his team was alive and well.

Lana stood on the shoreline, looking almost disappointed.
